Italy – Airport Closure 27 Jul – 27 Oct – Milan Linate
Flights to and from Milan Linate Airport (LIN), Lombardy Region, will be suspended July 27-Oct. 27 to facilitate essential maintenance. However, the work could could overrun beyond that date.
LIN operates domestic flights and services to other western European destinations. It is a key hub for Alitalia (AZ), which has announced that flights will be diverted to Milan Malpensa (MXP) during the airport closure; additional Alitalia flights will also be introduced at Orio al Serio International Airport (BGY). Increased congestion is possible on flights serving these airports until the maintenance work at LIN has concluded. Greater than usual passenger numbers could prompt minor security and baggage-processing delays at BGY and MXP.
Confirm flight availability ahead of travel; arrive at the airport early to prevent your seat being allocated to a standby passenger. Book onward transport services in advance if visiting Milan during the affected time frame.
If your travel plans are affected by the above or you require further information please contact your HRG Office.
